Tatra cable cars

A popular attraction is the funicular, which runs from Starý Smokovec to Hrebienok, climbing 255 metres in 7 minutes.

The route can also be walked in about 40 minutes, and in winter you can enjoy a fun sledge ride down the sledging run that winds alongside the funicular in tight bends.

The aerial cable cars are another High Tatras attraction. The chairlift from Štrbské Pleso to Solisko offers views of the Patria and Solisko peaks and into the Mlynická and Furkotská valleys. From the gondola running from Tatranská Lomnica to Skalnaté Pleso, you can see the whole Poprad Basin, part of the Low Tatras and the Belianske Tatras, and the Lomnický, Kežmarský and Slavkovský štít peaks. From Skalnaté Pleso you can continue by cable car up to Lomnický štít and enjoy views of the peaks and valleys of the High Tatras from the second-highest point in Slovakia.
